Question 1

How long does FASTag activation take?

Accepted Answer

A newly issued FASTag is typically activated within 10 to 30 minutes after successful document verification and processing. However, activation may take longer in certain cases, such as KYC verification issues, incorrect vehicle details, bank-side delays, technical validation requirements, or if the vehicle is under a FASTag hotlist/blacklist status. If there are any discrepancies in the submitted information or an existing FASTag-related issue, activation may be delayed until the issue is resolved. NH360 provides support to help customers complete the activation process as quickly as possible.

Question 2

What is KYC for FASTag?

Accepted Answer

KYC (Know Your Customer) is the verification of your identity and vehicle details by the issuing bank. You need to provide your RC copy and a valid government photo ID (Aadhaar/Driving Licence). Full KYC is required for unlimited usage; without KYC the tag may have a lower monthly transaction limit.

Question 3

Why will NH360 call me for OTP during activation?

Accepted Answer

During FASTag activation, the issuing bank sends an OTP to your registered mobile number to verify and link the tag to your account. NH360's activation support team (+91 96779 79393) calls you to guide you through entering this OTP in real time, ensuring smooth activation without any delay.

Question 4

Can I track my FASTag application status?

Accepted Answer

After requesting a callback, contact our team by phone or WhatsApp using the mobile number supplied in your enquiry. If you have already placed an order, share your Order ID for a processing or delivery update.

Question 5

How long does KYC processing take?

Accepted Answer

KYC approval depends on the issuing bank's verification process. Some banks may approve KYC within 1 business day, while others may take 5 to 7 business days. Processing times can vary based on document verification requirements, application volume, and the accuracy of the information submitted. Any discrepancies or incomplete documents may result in additional delays.

Question 6

What documents are required to get a FASTag?

Accepted Answer

To get a FASTag, you need the following documents: (1) Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) – front and back copies, (2) Owner's photo ID proof such as Aadhaar Card, (3) Owner's PAN Card (required by some banks), and (4) a registered mobile number for OTP verification. With NH360, these documents can be submitted digitally, making the FASTag application process quick and convenient without requiring a physical visit.

Question 7

How do I apply for FASTag through NH360?

Accepted Answer

Our team will explain the full quote, required documents and delivery options before you agree to pay. No payment or document upload is needed to request a callback.

Question 8

How much does FASTag cost?

Accepted Answer

Question 9

Can I get FASTag for a commercial vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Yes, FASTag is available for both private and commercial vehicles, including cars, taxis, buses, trucks, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs). When applying through NH360, simply select the appropriate vehicle class and provide the required vehicle documents. The FASTag will be issued according to the vehicle category, ensuring accurate toll deductions at toll plazas across India.
Please note that the issuance fee, security deposit, and minimum recharge amount may vary for commercial vehicles based on the vehicle class and the issuing bank's policies. Additional KYC or vehicle-related documents may also be required depending on the bank's norms and regulatory requirements.

Question 10

What is FASTag?

Accepted Answer

FASTag is a reloadable prepaid tag that uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to make toll payments directly from a linked prepaid wallet or savings/current bank account. The tag is affixed to the vehicle's windscreen and enables automatic deduction of toll charges as the vehicle passes through a toll plaza, eliminating the need to stop for cash payments and ensuring a faster, seamless travel experience.

Question 11

Is FASTag mandatory in India?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As per the mandate issued by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), effective 15 February 2021, FASTag is mandatory for all four-wheelers in India. Vehicles without a valid FASTag using FASTag-enabled toll lanes are charged double the applicable toll fee. This initiative promotes cashless transactions and reduces congestion at toll plazas.

Question 12

Which banks issue FASTag in India?

Accepted Answer

NH360 helps customers obtain FASTag from leading banks and issuers across India, including State Bank of India, IDFC FIRST Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, Quik Wallet, BlackBuck, Axis Bank, Equitas Small Finance Bank, IndusInd Bank, and Airtel Payments Bank. Customers can choose their preferred issuer and enjoy seamless electronic toll payments across India.

Question 13

How long is FASTag valid?

Accepted Answer

FASTag is generally valid for 5 years from the date of issuance. During this period, you can continue to use the tag by maintaining sufficient balance in the linked wallet or bank account. If the FASTag becomes damaged, unreadable, or reaches the end of its validity period, it must be replaced with a new tag.
